Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening
Evidence-based AAA screening standards for
Scotland were published in April 2011.
NHS board representatives and the Mens Health Forum helped develop
these standards. Close collaboration with NHS National
Services Division was also needed.
The AAA screening standards are aligned
to NHS National Services Division’s key performance indicators for
AAA which incorporate the Quality Strategy six dimensions of
quality:
- safe
- effective
- patient-centred
- timely
- efficient
- and equitable care.
The standards are also mapped to the
Participation Standard for Scotland.
