Learning Disability Services National Overview 2006

National Overview

A national overview for learning disability services, based on the NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) local report for each NHS board area, reports on the performance across Scotland against the quality indicators and includes relevant examples of local initiatives. This overview, together with an easy-read summary is also available.

Background

The Learning Disabilities Quality Indicator Revision Group was established in March 2003 under the chairmanship of Dr Margaret Whoriskey, Principal Advisor, Disability Services, NHS QIS. Membership of the group included health and social care professionals. The revised Quality Indicators for Learning Disabilities were developed by this Group and published in February 2004 following extensive consultation.

The Learning Disabilities Quality Indicator Project Group was established in February 2004 under the chairmanship of Dr Margaret Whoriskey, Principal Advisor, Disability Services, NHS QIS until December 2004, and Michael McCue, Advisor, Disability Services, NHS QIS until the end of the project. This group oversaw the peer review process for the learning disabilities quality indicators.
