About the costing report
The objective of this clinical and resource impact report is to
provide each NHS board with resource and cost information to assist
in implementing those recommendations in SIGN Guideline 116
Management of diabetes identified as potentially having a major
benefit for patients and a material impact on the level or form of
service provision. This report does not reproduce the SIGN
guideline and should be read in conjunction with it.
The annual operating costs are estimated at £2.5 million in the
first year, rising to about £3.8 million by year 5.

This clinical and resource impact report will be of interest to
health professionals involved in budgeting, finance and
implementation, business planners and organisational development
