Aberdeen Royal Infirmary unnanounced inspection February 2010

On Tuesday 13 October 2009 and Monday 16 November 2009, HEI carried out announced and unannounced inspection visits to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Following these inspections, two separate reports were published outlining a number of requirements and recommendations linked to the NHS QIS HAI standards. In order to review the progress made by NHS Grampian in the implementation of its improvement action plan to address these requirements and recommendations, HEI conducted a further unannounced inspection to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Wednesday 17 February 2010. As part of the unannounced inspection, the following areas were visited:

  • ward 12
  • ward 14
  • ward 31
  • ward 32
  • ward 45
  • ear, nose and throat high dependency unit (HDU).

The inspection report highlights areas of strengths as well as areas for further improvement, including recommendations for actions.

The improvement action plan for this inspection has now been removed from the HEI website, as the inspection took place more than 16 weeks ago. Please contact NHS Grampian for further information on progress against this action plan.
