NICE Single Technology Appraisal Guidance No194 – Denosumab for the treatment of therapy-induced bone loss in non-metastatic prostate cancer

This NICE Guidance was published 28 July 2010. The web reference for the appraisal and other related documents is: http://guidance.nice.org.uk/TA194

The guidance states that NICE is unable to recommend the use in the NHS of denosumab for the treatment of therapy-induced bone loss in non-metastatic prostate cancer because no evidence submission was received from the manufacturer or sponsor of the technology.

NHSScotland should note that:

1. Recommendations of NICE Single Technology Appraisals (STAs) have no status in NHS Scotland.

2. The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) is awaiting notification from the manufacturer of Denosumab on their submission plans.
