This best practice statement can be
used in a variety of ways, although primarily it is intended to
serve as a guide to best practice and promote a consistent and
cohesive approach to care. The statement is intended to be
challenging but realistic and can be used:
- as a basis for developing and
improving care directly and indirectly
- to stimulate learning among
multidisciplinary teams
- to promote effective
multiprofessional team working and enhance partnerships with
patients, carer(s) and relevant others
- to stimulate ideas and priorities for
research.
